About the Job
The i9 Sports Baseball Coordinator is responsible for enhancing the overall experience for the i9 Sports Baseball/T-Ball program. The Coordinator will oversee and lead each session of T-Ball/Baseball with the assistance of our Volunteer Coaches. The Baseball Coordinator will work with our volunteer coaches each week to ensure a positive, dynamic, and effective instructional experience is delivered. The position entails hands-on involvement with practices and games among all age groups and skills levels. Our age groups are generally broken up as follows:
3-4 yr olds - T-Ball
5-6 yr olds - Coach Pitch
7-8 yr olds - Coach Pitch

Shifts are scheduled for weekends only with shifts available on either Saturday and/or Sunday based on availability. Our venues are located across Howard and Montgomery Counties.

April 11th to May 24th - Spring League
June 20th to July 25th - Summer League
Sept 12th to Oct 25th - Fall League
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruction and Skill Development:
    • Teach young athletes the fundamental skills and techniques of Baseball
    • Implement age-appropriate drills and exercises to enhance players' Baseball abilities (Practice plans created and provided by i9 Sports).
    • Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their performance.
    • Complete mandatory pre season training sessions (Financially Compensated)
  • Game Officiating:
    • Serve as an official for youth T-Ball & Baseball games, ensuring fair play and adherence to rules.
    • Maintain a professional and unbiased demeanor while officiating games.
    • Address rule violations and conflicts with fairness and diplomacy.
  • Safety and Supervision:
    • Ensure the safety of all participants during practices & games.
    • Supervise and manage groups of young athletes, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
    • Address any safety concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Communication:
    • Maintain open and effective communication with parents, participants, and fellow staff members.
    • Provide updates on program activities via Connecteam.
    • Address questions, concerns, and feedback from parents and participants professionally.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience coaching or playing Baseball.
  • Knowledge of Baseball rules and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and parents.
  • A passion for youth sports and the development of young athletes.
  • Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
  • Availability to work each weekend of the given season  (Spring, Summer,  etc.)
  • Ability to efficiently solve problems
  • Ability to motivate and manage others (i.e. coaches)
  • Extremely reliable and responsible
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • Must have own vehicle/reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass background check

Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
