The Official is a critical role in any sports field; responsible for enforcing rules while also cultivating a positive culture, acting as an on-field coach, and advocating for the programs. This role has a direct impact on players, coaches, and spectators each and every game day.
Job Summary
The League Instructor and/or Official is a hands-on position responsible for leading youth athletes across all sports - But Specifically Soccer - in our programs and leagues. You will provide expert instruction, enforce rules, and foster a fun, positive youth sports culture on and off the field.
- Lead instructional sessions and officiate games across all sports (soccer, basketball, flag football, volleyball, baseball), focusing on fundamentals, skill development, and sportsmanship.
- Understand and enforce i9 Sports rulebooks while maintaining an age-appropriate level of instruction, competition, and fun.
- Keep time and score during games, and demonstrate core values to players and parents.
- Communicate game day details and program information using established platforms.
- Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude, safety-first mindset, and superior customer service.
- Multi-Sport Knowledge: Experience playing, coaching, or officiating multiple sports with a willingness to teach all disciplines.
- Availability: Must be available on Saturdays/Sundays for league play (~4–7 weeks per season).

Travel & Location Mobility: Ability and willingness to travel to assigned program and venue locations, including:
- League Venues: San Antonio Christian School, UTSA, Shepherd of the Hills/Medical area, Boerne Area (BMS North/South), and Lutheran High School.
- Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to build strong relationships.
- Self-motivated leader who can take charge of situations to ensure player safety.
- Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check.
